Accreditation

Degree programs conducted at the Faculty of Chemistry of TUL are subject to accreditations - mandatory and voluntary.

PKA

Currently, the Faculty holds full accreditations from the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) for the following fields of study:

Further fields of study will be accredited in the near future.

The Chemical Technology field of study was recognized by PKA by being awarded the Certificate of Educational Excellence in the category: Excellent field of study - excellence in education.

The Nanotechnology field of study at the first and second cycles was recognized by PKA by being awarded the Certificate of Educational Excellence in the category: Open to the world - excellence in international cooperation. (PKA resolution)

The Faculty of Chemistry of TUL has also voluntarily acceded to accreditations granted by the Accreditation Commission of Universities of Technology (KAUT) and The European Chemistry Thematic Network (ECTN).

KAUT

KAUT grants EUR-ACE® Label certificates, which are a type of accreditation created by European engineering organizations. The European Network for Engineering Accreditation (ENAEE) brings together European organizations involved in engineering education, such as: the British Engineering Council (EngC), the French Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI), the Féderation Européenne d’Associations Nationales d’Ingenieurs (FEANI), the Sociéte Européenne pour la Formation des Ingénieurs (SEFI), and The International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP). One of the activities of the ENAEE network is the EUR-ACE (European Accredited Engineer) accreditation program, which entails awarding educational programs a certificate confirming their high level, as well as their compliance with norms and principles adopted in Europe. The ENAEE accreditation system is closely linked to the Bologna Process and is based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance, which constitute the highest quality standard in this regard. Thanks to the ENAEE accreditations granted to the Faculty of Chemistry of TUL, employers gain the assurance that the competencies of the Faculty's graduates in terms of knowledge, understanding, and practical skills are consistent with international standards in engineering education, while students gain confirmation that programs holding the EUR-ACE® Label meet international standards and are recognized by employers in Europe. In countries with regulated engineering professions, programs with the EUR-ACE® Label meet the conditions necessary to obtain the title of Registered or Chartered Engineer (CEng), and FEANI automatically recognizes programs holding the EUR-ACE® Label as qualifying for the title of European Engineer (Eur Ing).

Degree programs in the following fields of study hold KAUT accreditation:

  • Chemistry (1st and 2nd cycle)
  • Nanotechnology (2nd cycle)
  • Chemical Technology (1st and 2nd cycle)

ECTN

The Faculty of Chemistry of TUL also holds ECTN (The European Chemistry Thematic Network Association) accreditations. ECTN is a non-profit association registered in Belgium. The network is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus program. Currently, the network consists of over 120 members (universities, national chemical societies, and chemical companies) from 30 different European countries, as well as associate members from all over the world. The network's experts carry out a number of initiatives including, among others, the development of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral qualification frameworks in the field of chemistry and conducting accreditation procedures for Chemistry Eurobachelor®, Chemistry Euromaster®, Chemical Technology Euromaster®, and Chemistry Doctorate Eurolabel®.

The ECTN accreditation has been granted to two fields of study: Chemistry (1st and 2nd cycle) and Chemical Technology (2nd cycle). In the near future, the Faculty will submit further fields of study for accreditation.
